Overview
Rich Feuer Anderson (RFA) is a bipartisan government affairs firm focusing on financial services, technology and tax policy. Since our firm’s inception in 2003, RFA has been trusted by clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, on issues of strategic importance in business, policy, and politics. We design and implement advocacy and advisory strategies to help companies strategically position their business in an ever-changing political environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking professional to join our team as an Assistant Vice President. We are looking for someone who already understands how Congress works, is comfortable tracking fast-moving policy, and is ready to take real ownership over issue areas and client work.
Responsibilities
- Help shape and execute advocacy strategies for clients across energy, tax, financial services, trade, and supply chain policy.
- Track legislation, hearings, markups, rulemakings, and executive actions, and translate what’s happening in Washington into clear takeaways for clients.
- Identify risks and opportunities in pending policy and political developments and flag them early.
- Draft client-ready products, including policy memos, hearing summaries, legislative updates, briefing materials, and presentations.
- Prepare clients for meetings with congressional offices, committee staff, and executive agencies, including background materials and talking points.
- Build and maintain relationships with Hill staff, agency contacts, trade associations, and coalition partners.
- Represent clients and the firm at briefings, industry events, and stakeholder meetings as needed.
- Take ownership of specific policy portfolios and serve as a day-to-day resource for assigned clients.
- Pitch in across the firm on coalition efforts, events, and special projects when needed (we’re a team and we operate that way).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 2–4 years of relevant experience on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch, or in government relations, advocacy, or public policy roles at a trade association, company, nonprofit, or consulting firm.
- A strong working knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process, including committees, appropriations, and agency rulemaking.
- Experience working on or around issues related to trade, tax, or financial services.
- Comfortable engaging with congressional and agency staff and working with trade associations and coalitions.
- Strong writing skills and experience producing client-facing memos, briefings, and policy analysis.
- Organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple clients and deadlines without dropping the ball.
- Comfort turning policy analysis into clean, client-ready materials.
- Someone who’s collaborative, curious, and excited to grow in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
